Account Creation

This guide will walk you through the process of creating and setting up your account on the 3D Policy platform.

Registration Process

Step 1: Navigate to the Registration Page

Visit the 3D Policy website and click on the "Login" button in the top-right corner of the navigation bar. On the login page, you'll find an option to "Create an account" or "Register".

Step 2: Fill Out the Registration Form

Complete the registration form with the following information:

  • Name: Your full name as you want it to appear on your profile
  • Email: Your professional email address (this will be used for login and communications)
  • Password: Create a secure password (must include at least 8 characters, including uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters)
  • Role: Select your professional role from the dropdown menu
  • Department: Enter your department or area of expertise
  • Program: Select the program or policy area you're primarily associated with

Step 3: Verify Your Email

After submitting the registration form, you'll receive a verification email at the address you provided. Click on the verification link in the email to confirm your account.

Step 4: Complete Your Profile

Once your email is verified, you'll be prompted to complete your profile with additional information:

  • Profile Picture: Upload a professional photo (recommended size: 400x400 pixels)
  • Bio: Write a brief professional biography (up to 500 characters)
  • Education: Add your educational background, including universities, degrees, and graduation years
  • Social Links: Add links to your professional social media profiles (LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.)

Account Types and Permissions

3D Policy offers different account types with varying permissions:

Member Account

  • Create and edit your profile
  • Submit articles and papers for review
  • Register for events
  • Access member-only content

Administrator Account

  • All member permissions
  • Approve or reject submissions
  • Create and manage events
  • Publish news and updates
  • Manage user accounts

Password Recovery

If you forget your password, follow these steps to reset it:

  1. Click on "Login" in the navigation bar
  2. Select "Forgot password?" below the login form
  3. Enter the email address associated with your account
  4. Check your email for a password reset link
  5. Click the link and follow the instructions to create a new password

Account Security Best Practices

  • Use a strong, unique password
  • Enable two-factor authentication if available
  • Keep your contact information up to date
  • Log out when using shared computers
  • Regularly review your account activity
